Complementary/alternative medicine (CAM) in allergic rhinitis is a popular, effective alternative to traditional prescription medicines.

The percentage of adults in the general population who are using or have used CAM therapies ranges between 25-50% in Australia and Europe.  Among American adults with asthma or rhino-sinusitis, nearly 50% have tried CAM treatments and the use do CAM for all medical problems in the US is on the rise.  (1)

Allergic rhinitis is the most common chronic and allergic disease with an increasing prevalence in the industrialized countries.  Prevalence reported as high as 39.7% with an increase 4 times in England over the previous 30 years. (2)
